Hi Everyone,
Just as we were going to final setup and ordering for the manufacturing of our coins, the US government has decided to add a 54% tariff to any goods being imported from China. Since we completed this campaign, first a 10% tariff was added and then an additional 10% was added. I was prepared to continue the production without much impact to the kickstarter backers but only add the additional costs to the MSRP for retail. Now that the additional 34% was added a few days ago and has caused an over 50% increase to the production cost, I now need to do something else to help.
I will still try to do my best to see if there is anything which can be done with getting help from the manufacturer in additional discounts. As the tariffs also increase the freight costs to get them sent here, I will need to increase the shipping costs for the US delivery, but only increased based on the shared cost to the whole amount I am shipping in the US.
Additionally, all of you can assist by messaging your members of congress and let them know that you think the new tariffs are having a huge affect on the US economy, as many more items than just tabletop games will be affected and go up in price by up to 50%.
You can find your representative and senators' contact information at house.gov and senate.gov. Ask them how these new policies help American creators and small businesses. Because right now, it feels like they don't.
